News and Forthcoming Events

The theme of this month’s Messy Church was ‘Miracles’, in particular, the miracle of Jesus’ feeding of the five thousand.

After greeting everyone and saying a prayer the theme and crafts were explained. We usually have the worship first but because of the time needed to make the bread, we decided to do the crafts first.

Our activities/crafts were:

Making plant pots out of newspaper and planting seeds to remind us of the miracle of new life

Creating a frieze depicting the ‘Feeding of the Five Thousand’

Using celery to paint colourful designs of fish

Plaiting dough to make bread buns

We then had the story and this was followed by the sharing of a meal (quiche and salad and cake), as Jenny Cook could not be with us this time.

We ended with the song, ‘He’s got the Whole World in His Hands’ accompanied by Michael on the ukulele.

There was a lovely atmosphere in the room and an enjoyable time with everyone working together across the generations and a chance to talk and build relationships and for parents, grandparents and church members to enjoy time together.

There were 16 children, 9 adults with the children and 6 helpers

Thank you to the staff, Mrs Clay and Mrs Sharples.

Thank you to the helpers, John, Janice, Michael, Anne, Liz
