Coronavirus - Updates

Latest guidance

The Church of England is updating its Coronavirus guidance for churches every day.

Last updated (17 March 2020)

In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice.

Churches should:

  • suspend public worship until further notice.
  • be open where possible but with no public worship services taking place. Social distancing and hand washing must be observed.
  • share prayers; said by clergy and ministers on behalf of everyone, circulated digitally.
  • complete a Parish Continuity Plan to ensure, as far as possible, their continued mission and ministry.

Read the full guidance currently issued by the Church of England.

In light of this, all Masses at St Michael's during the week and on a Sunday are cancelled until further notice.

The church will be open for private prayer on Sundays at 11:00 - please observe the guidance on handwashing and social distance.
